"44,000 Touched in One Week"

"Christmas at the Oasis" 21st Edition has started out in a powerful way. Last week we literally had more people park and walk from the neighboring shopping center and streets into our property than drove through several nights. That is an amazing thing when you figure we used to have only about 10% come from off-property. Last year we figured about 25% and this year it’s equal or more some nights. What does that mean? It means God is sending thousands to our property to hear and see "The Greatest Story Ever Born" and even our property and parking limitations are not holding them back.

I want to share another astounding bit of information that once again shows how God is blessing Oasis and giving us a platform far larger than anything we could have ever imagined or dreamed 21 years ago when we put up the original nativity display and 200-300 lights in our little hedges outside our office. Beyond our property, let me share some other facts in just this first week of Christmas.

Our social media tagline this month is #50KReasons with the meaning being that up to 50,000 people will see our lights this year and hear the story of Jesus and His love. That does not include the thousands who will drive by but not come in the property. We meet those types every night and they tell us they have driven by for years but not ever come in. I think most think it’s too expensive, ha!

Just last week alone our Oasis Facebook page touched over 43,000 people and almost 4,000 interacted on it. That is beyond my comprehension. To think that on this little piece of property in Pembroke Pines and also North Miami, this many people can be reached in one week. This does not include the thousands (which are impossible to gauge) that have seen our pictures and each Oasis-er’s posts on social media. I would not be surprised if it topped 100,000 and that is not an exaggeration. It is amazing the grace and favor God has poured out on Oasis Church during this Christmas season.

I don't even have the space here to tell you the amazing stories of people we have already met in the first weekend.

But no amount of Social Media, traditional media, mailers or advertising can match the POWER OF AN INVITE BY YOU PERSONALLY TO YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND WORK ASSOCIATES. I HOPE YOU ARE HANDING OUT INVITES AND CONTINUE TO DO IT UNTIL CHRISTMAS EVE WHEN WE WILL HAVE OUR BEST CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICES/EXPERIENCE EVER.

Don't miss our new Sermon series, "Midnight Clear," and our services this month. I loved bringing the first message from Isaiah last weekend. We continue the series this weekend at both campuses.

Please make a commitment that every-time you pray you will pray for Oasis, its staff, volunteers and all the guests who come through our doors at both campuses. Please pray. Prayer is the power of what happens at Oasis. We need your prayers. 20+ adults accepted Christ at the altar at our Pines campus last weekend. It was a direct result of your prayers and the Word of God being preached simple enough that an adult can understand.

"Christmas at the Oasis" week two continues tonight, 7pm-10pm, and goes through Sunday night. I hope to see you at one of the nights either with your family or serving. We can't have enough of you serving each night. Even if you did not sign up for a night, you can come on the property and go to the "Volunteer Central" tent on the east side of our auditorium on the Pines Campus. Nomites (North Miami) are invited to come serve too.

I can't wait to see you this weekend. I love Oasis Church and the chance to serve with you.

Guy Melton
Senior Pastor
Oasis Church of South Florida

P.S. For our North Miami campus, I am so excited to be with you this Sunday at the 10:30am service and introduce our new Campus Pastor and his wife. You are going to love them and the story of how God led them to us. While they will not begin officially in North Miami until January, I wanted you to meet them early. See you Sunday.

That is great! I never knew people would walk to church despite parking lots being full!

I will be praying for the Oasis staff, volunteers, members, and guests who attend Oasis!

I just found this blog online while searching for information on the council vote! Thank you for blogging. I would like to be more involved in upcoming events and ways to keep serving.

The website should help!

Thank you for all that you do for us, Pastor Melton!
