Church Based Shelter Program

Have any of you been wondering what’s up with our Women’s Ministry? Well, we’ve been very busy planning a special outreach event for the week of December 10-15. It’s called the Church Based Shelter Program, directed by The Coalition to End Homelessness in Broward County.

During this week, we will host a family; one who has very recently become homeless and is awaiting a shelter to live in. We will provide a room to sleep, shower or bath, breakfast, bagged lunch to take with them during each day and a dinner in the evening, with activities for the children.

Our KidsWorld Workers are planning evening activities for the children each night. At the same time, “Christmas at the Oasis” will be in full swing!

Many of our women from our Community Groups and Women’s Ministry are serving meals, donating funds for lunches, sleeping over and are ready to greet and serve this family the week God gives them to us. We have men stepping up to help, as well! I would never want to slight them!

Would you be praying for this family, whoever they are, that they will see the love of Jesus through our church family? They will be in a very tough place and we want to serve them like Jesus would have us do.
