The feedback from the picnic on Saturday was been very positive. Attendance was good and all who were there had an enjoyable time. We began by thanking all who came and then Steve Card led us in prayer. This was the only formality of the day. Now I am really bad at estimating but I would say that there were about 70 to 80 people in attendance (including children). One thing I am sure of is that everyone was in high spirits and the food was excellent! There was a wide variety of foods and more then enough for everyone.
In terms of activities the single mothers started a touch football game. There was some soccer, volleyball and frisbee. Nothing really structured but all fun.
After the picnic we carried some of the food (Burger buns, sandwiches, sandwich meats, and more) to the church for the Saturday service.
It was great to see everyone interacting and “owning” the picnic… treating it as theirs and not as a function staged for them.
The picnic was a great event and hopefully future Community picnics can be bigger with a greater focus.

My kids and I had fun!! Yeah, lots of food, excellent fellowship, and great paradise weather (Pastor Guy’s term :))
Looking forward to another Community Group Picnic maybe the next 6 months?
Thanks to all who coordinated this event.
