Friday Night Movie Recap

On Friday night we showed Marley & Me here at Oasis Church. It was really an all-around great event. Surge provided a snack bar with popcorn, candy, sodas, and coffee beverages. The community café was filled with teens and adults hanging out. We had music playing in the café and the auditorium. Several people who weren’t planning to stay for the movie ended up hanging out in the café for an hour or so.

The movie was shown in the main auditorium and we had 52 people come out. It really did feel like being in a movie theater. After the movie was over, several people told me they really enjoyed it and were excited about the next showing. I’m really excited about the potential for community to spring out of the movie night. I am hoping to see a group of young adults connecting and growing together.

There were a lot of people who were willing to help out in getting things set up and running smoothly. Without them, it probably would have been a little rough. As it was, the event went smoothly and I was able to relax and enjoy the movie with my wife and our friends from Hollywood.
