Great Bibles for Children
80 days ago by Suzie McCord
Part of growing as a Christian is reading your bible. If your child does not yet own a bible, I would encourage you to purchase one. There are many great choices out there that are age appropriate and engaging. Below is a list of bibles that I recommend for children. Each is written in the NIV (New International Version) or NLT (New Living Translation) version. I find these versions easier for children to comprehend.
For Non-Readers:
The Beginner’s Bible: Timeless Children’s Stories by Zondervan Publishing
My First Devotional Bible by Andy Holmes and Thomas Nelson Publishing
For Readers:
NIV Kids Devotional Bible: Expanded & Updated by Zondervan Publishing
NIV Boy’s Bible by Rick Osborne and Zondervan Publishing
NLT Girl’s Life Application Bible by Tyndale House Publishing
NLT Hands on Bible for Kids by Tyndale House Publishing
NIV Faithgirlz! Bible by Zondervan Publishing
These bibles can be found at Christianbook.com (you can read excerpts from each bible on their website), Amazon.com, or at Kona in the Community Café (arriving on or before May 20th). I am sure there are many more suitable choices out there. These are just the ones that I know are effective and that I’m most familiar with as a Children’s Ministry Director. The most important part is that your child can understand what is read and that he/she has a bible reading routine. Happy Reading!
