His House
298 days ago by Julie Anne Osterhus
Two weeks ago, Katia and I visited His House in Miami Gardens. His House provides live-in facilities to children who have been abused and pulled out of their homes. At the heart of the organization is an amazing woman named Jean Caceres- Gonzalez. Twenty years ago she had a vision for taking in children with no place to stay, and today God has blessed her organization and they currently have a staff of 98 and care for 260 children.
We had a chance to sit down with Jean and hear her story and vision. She shared that there is a big need for people to come and hang out with the kids and form relationships with them. She also gave us tangible ways that we could easily get involved in supporting this organization.
They contacted us yesterday and shared an immediate need. They have a list of specific items that we can donate!
-10 cans of mixed vegetables
-40 cans of sweet whole kernel corn
-40 cans of carrots
-40 cans of sweet peas
-15 boxes of mashed potato flakes
-40 cans of black beans
-12 large cans of vegetable oil
-20 boxes of lasagna noodles
Please shoot me an e-mail at julieo@visitoasis.org if you can donate any of these items. Every bit helps! We want to show this organization that we are fully behind what they’re doing and that we appreciate the fact that Godly people are stepping up to meet real needs. Thanks and God bless!
