Homeless Week at Oasis

This is our third year to participate in the Church Based Homeless Program at the Pines campus. This is where we open up doors to families less fortunate that have found themselves homeless for whatever reason. This year we have three families – a mom with three children (11 month girl, 4 yr old girl and 7 yr old boy); another mom with her 6 month old boy and a mom with her 2 year old. We open our doors at 5 p.m., where individuals in our church or some of our community groups have been bringing in dinner to these families.

During the evening we have families or individuals that either help the kids with their homework or play with the younger children. They spend the night in one of our rooms and then in the morning are fed breakfast and sent off with a bagged lunch for their daily routines. Many are looking for jobs or trying to find permanent housing for their families. Some of the children go to school while the younger ones stay with their moms as they attempt to put their lives back together. Please consider putting this on your calendar for next year to help those less fortunate and be the hands and feet of Jesus in serving others!
