Check out pictures from the Wiikend.
Wow! What a wiikend we had!
Our first Dnow “One Wiik-end” is under our belt now. From Friday to Sunday we had 50 teens take part on God’s amazing agenda.
Jason Smith was our speaker. He came to bring a message that challenged each one in the NoMi auditorium: to experience a relationship with Jesus that not only includes reading the bible, memorizing bible verses, having devotion time, coming to church, etc… but one that includes loving God and loving one another -keeping in mind that each one of us make the body of Christ.
It was very powerful to see how they responded to the message. Jason’s illustrations were funny, creative and perfect for explaining those 3 questions we tackled throughout the wiikend: “Who Am I?”, “Who is I AM?” and “Who are we?”
My favorite thing? If I could pick one, it was the cross illustration. As teens came in they had their picture taken. After the first session we had them tear it up…Why? Because our own view of ourselves is never the same as who we truly are in HIM. (“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Cor. 5:17). After the second session everyone was surprised to see that those torn pieces were now part of a bare cross that Jason kept referring to when talking about the cross Jesus endured for our sins. Yes, we are one body – the body of Christ – we are related to each other in more ways than we think. We affect each other in more ways than we think. And just the same if we are real and encourage one another we can impact each other in so many more ways than we could possibly think.
The coolest thing of the whole wiikend? We had 3 teens accept Christ as their Savior and about 45 who decided to recommit their lives to live in this corporate relationship with Him.
We are here for each other, we are His creation, we are His children, we are one ministry…
Dnow was incredible. It may have very well changed lives forever!!!
