Just a New Pair of Socks

This past Friday the T.O.U.C.H Project was once again in full swing. I am pleased to announce that I was able to welcome 4 first time volunteers from a community group! God is definitely growing this ministry.
As we do every other Friday we went out to the streets of downtown Miami and fed, prayed with, encouraged and touched the hearts of the less fortunate. We were able to provide food servings for between 100-115 persons, and also give out bibles, clothing items, water, hygiene items and the message of God’s love.
Just like the last time, God used a group of homeless individuals to truly touch the hearts of all those involved this past week. I happened to walk into a parking lot where there were 4 gentlemen sleeping on cardboard beds. I approached 3 and offered them some water and made some light conversation. I noticed they were looking thru a Walmart catalog and asked them if they could use a pair of socks or any clothing items. They looked up at me with a look of shock and asked me to repeat what I said. Upon repeating myself, one of the men picked up a baseball cap laying next to him and showed me 2 of the dirtiest pair of ‘formerly’ white socks I’d ever seen. He balled them up together and threw them across the parking lot and said, “thank you Jesus!” I was more shocked than he was and confused as to why he was so excited.
It turns out the men where just at that particular moment looking through the Walmart catalog discussing HOW they would be able to purchase new pairs of socks and clothing items, when up I walked and offered them excactly what they were praying about. Needless to say it made for a great time as we shared with all 3 men, prayed for them, gave them a bible and saw God use them to bless us.
The Lord is good, and greatly to be praised and I greatly thank ALL of you for your support of the T.O.U.C.H Project. I know that it is only thru your consistent prayers and more we are enabled to do what we can to tangibly show God’s love to those that are forgotten, but never lost. Please continue to keep this growing ministry in mind for prayer, and if you would ever like more information don’t hesitate to contact me (warrenc@visitoasis.org or J_Bacon21@hotmail.com). God Bless you all richly and have a great week!
