Our Mission to Homeless Families

A few weeks ago, as I was arriving at the NoMi campus, I was excited to see a person that I had not seen for awhile – a nice woman and her young daughter that have attended our Pembroke Pines Campus in the past. What made this experience special was that this woman first came to our Oasis Pines campus through a homeless outreach program that Tonia Melton, Women’s Ministry Leader, felt led to do last December (07). When they noticed me the young girl gave me a huge hug and wanted to know about KidsWorld. I was so happy to tell her that we have KidsWorld at North Miami too.

Her mom went on to say that they just moved into the North Miami area and saw our campus sign. They were pleased to be able to continue attending Oasis Church, even at their new address. It was encouraging to hear how their situation has improved over the last few months and to know that we could still continue to minister to them as one church, meeting on three campuses.

We will be hosting families again this year, December 8-13, 2008. We anticipate God’s work in their lives and ours as we serve families again. We are preparing and praying for them at this time. What a great ministry and program to partner with!
