Single Mom's Morning Out Update

The single Mom’s morning out was a great success! Ten moms showed up with 20 kids. The children participated in games, movies, outdoor fun, and made a Mother’s day craft for their hard working moms. Thanks to Vanessa, Celeste, David, Crystal, Teresa, Thea, and Blanca for volunteering their time to make it possible.

Gabi Murray, our Facilities Manager and a Notary Public, was at the event notarizing forms for the event and below is her reaction to the event:

“Just a note of my observation on Saturday when I was here notarizing single Mom’s medical release forms for their children left in Suzie’s and her team’s care. Each time a Mom came to my station, I’d ask what they were going to do with their time off that day and they all mentioned something selfless. One took the opportunity to have a one-on-one date with her 12 year old son – she was taking him bowling. One was going to clean her house without interruption and another just wanted a nap. I thought of how I take so much for granted, what was normal for me was a luxury for them. I applaud Suzie and her team for providing this for our many single Moms at Oasis. It’s great that our church is sensitive to others needs.”
