Story of Community #6
126 days ago by Jenn Collins
Some groups in our church decide to participate in missions projects outside of their normal meeting time. An example of this is Jorge Alonso’s group. Periodically, they make food and serve at the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Lauderdale. They did this recently and received the following letter from the organization to say “thank you”:
Your group did a wonderful job!
The food was very well received. I was told that they said it was the best they’ve had in a long time, and I am so glad it was a good experience for you. As I told you, most times the families are not there when dinner is served…but believe me, when they get “home” late, it is a wonderful welcome to have fresh, hot food waiting for them, especially your group’s food.
Thank you again for your contribution!
I put your group on the calendar for December 6th and will be in touch with you that week to give you a house count and to confirm with you. Until then, bless you and your group…
What an awesome story of true community while serving others. Would your group pray about participating in a mission project in south Florida?
