Update from our Missionaries in Peru
74 days ago by Jenn Collins
Greetings from Peru,
We have been back in Peru a little over a month and what a month it has been. We came with the Duke Family who will be working with us, so we have been helping them get settled in, their kids in school and have started building their house.
April 2-4 our son, Russell, held a Bible Conference for the Pastors and Leaders from three of the larger cities in Southern Peru. The attendance was in the 90’s. He brought another Pastor with him and we had a very good meeting. From here he went to Lima and held 4 nights of meetings there.
April 5th we celebrated our 3rd anniversary of Open Doors on Saturdays here at the Camp. We started with a parade through town, with the Fire Department leading it and the local High School Band ending it. We also had the help of Barney, Minnie, Mickey, Winnie the Pooh, and Pluto. he local Police Department helped us with the traffic, etc. From there we came to the Camp and had tournaments in Soccer (men and women), Volleyball (men and women), and Volleyball (mixed). We had 1,162 people to attend and during the middle of it all we had a service with Russell preaching. Souls were saved and it was a very good day.
Our Church in Cusco is growing and our rented building is too small, so we are going to 2 services in May. We are trying to get everything in order so the change will go as smoothly as possible. We are working with our Small Groups and getting ready to start our Sports Program in the public Schools.
Please pray for these endeavors as we try to reach people for Christ.
Thank you for your support and prayers.
