On October 1 we held our first Women’s Morning Bible Study. It is a monthly gathering that meets the first Wednesday of each month. We were so excited to have 55 women attend this first meeting. What a great mix of women from different ages and stages of life to different nationalities and a beautiful mix of God’s wonderful creation….Women!
Cynthianna Mulling had us pulling out everything in our purses to see if we had the “goodies” she was looking for to win a prize. The winner had 20 of the 28 items called. Can you believe that? I think she won a purse! Cynthianna is pictured here in her rain bonnet. No, I didn’t have one of those in my purse but she looks great in hers, doesn’t she?
Jenn Collins led us in worship and really did a great job in preparing us for our study. Her acoustic touch was really calming and drew our attention to Christ.
Our speaker this month was Ebele Okpala and what a blessing she was! She is from Nigeria and was so expressive in her lesson of Psalm 23, teaching us of our Good Shepherd and how he loves us, protects us and guides us. One of my favorite parts of her lesson was when she spoke of “walking through the valley of the shadow of death”. She reminded us that there are no shadows without light. Our Light, Jesus, is always with us, even in the most difficult times of our lives.
We had a very intimate time of sharing our burdens, insights and God’s wonderful presence and love for each of us.
We look forward to our next meeting, November 5 at 10 a.m. in the auditorium. If you can attend, we would love to have you. There is childcare provided, up to the age of five.
