Starter Group: The Virtuous Woman

21 days ago by Jenn Collins

I am very excited to be leading a starter group here at Oasis in the fall. It will be on a subject that I (and I think all women in general) have a love/hate relationship with: The Proverbs 31 Woman. We’ll be going through a study called “The Virtuous Woman: Shattering the Superwoman Myth” by Vicki Courtney.

NEW Oasis Groups Start in September

21 days ago by Pat Roberts

When we study the life of Jesus it is clear how important interpersonal relationships were among believers. He prayed that we would Be One. At Oasis Church we understand the importance of being connected with other Christ-followers for our spiritual growth. One of the best ways to do that is in a small group.

This fall we have set aside an area in our Community Cafe where you will have a... More »

Single Mom's Appreciate the Men's Mentoring Program

The Single Mom’s Community Group is so blessed by the Men’s Mentoring Program. These men come together for one purpose: to mentor the Single Mom’s boys. These boys usually do not have a Godly man in their life. They do not have a man who will teach them to be loving men and how to... More »

Community as a Core Value

For the Christian, community means being Christ to one another, sharing the fulness of His life with everyone we encounter.

Created for Community

We believe that Life was meant to be lived in the context of relationships. Jesus said that the Great Commandment is “to love one another”. Our community group ministry exists to provide a safe place where everyone knows your name and they care about you and what’s happening in your life.

Connecting People

John 17:23 — “I in them and you in me, all being perfected into one. Then the world will know that you sent me and will understand that you love them as much as you love me.”

As our church grows, it will become a big place! We want to make sure we maintain a sense of family and belonging. A small group will bring you into an authentic relationship with others where you can build lifetime friendships.

Supporting Life's Challenges

1 Corinthians 12:25 — “This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other equally.”

We all know that life brings times of hardships and challenges. We desire that all people have a place where they can find support and care as they journey with Christ.

Encouraging our Faith

Acts 5:42 — “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ.”

We all need to grow and mature in our relationship with Christ. A small group provides an atmosphere where members can grow together in their walk with Christ as they learn together, pray together and live out the Word of God together. In a small group setting, you can ask questions, participate in a discussion of the Bible and hear others share insights and experiences pertaining to the truth you are learning.

Reaching out to those around us

Luke 19:10 — “And I, the Son of Man, have come to seek and save those like him who are lost.”

Our passion is to see God transform lives. Our small groups can make a difference in the lives of many as they come together to serve, love and care for their unchurched friends. In a community group, your unbelieving friends can ask questions and express honest doubts without feeling put on the spot.
