The final week begins tonight! Christmas at the Oasis 2014 is in its final and biggest week starting tonight at 7pm and ending at 10pm. Yes, it seems like we just launched the Christmas Display that had been planned and worked on since last January, but we have had a great year so far and this week promises to be the greatest ever. Each night, from tonight through Christmas night, will bring thousands out to our property.
I hope that every Oasis-er will not only bring your friends and family but you will also come out at least one or more nights this last week to volunteer. We cannot do this display without each of you. It takes hundreds to make this happen. You will never experience the full extent of our biggest outreach of the year unless you volunteer. That is where you are really blessed. To the many of you who have been out giving of your time these past two weeks, I want to thank you with all my heart. I love your passion and selflessness.
NOW FOR THE BIG ASK! Christmas at the Oasis needs to raise $50,000 this year in order to cover all of our costs. Every year, this is the most difficult thing I – as senior pastor – have to do: ask you to give, and to give the largest gift you can for Christmas. This is over and above your regular offerings. Last year, we fell far short and it impacted our ministry for most of the year. We had to cut back in other areas of ministry. Please prayerfully consider giving your largest Christmas gift to the Lord this year. You are not giving to Oasis Church. We are just the conduit to giving to the Lord’s work and to our Community. You will never make a better investment. You should have received a card, letter and giving envelope from me this week. You can bring the envelope to any service between now and the end of the year, or combine it with the regular giving envelope and mark “Christmas” by “Special Offering.” You can also give online here (not just your tithes and offerings but also to the tab for Christmas). There are #50kReasons to give.
Each year, we depend on the giving in order to have Christmas the next year. I am concerned that this year if we do not make up the $50,000 in costs, we might either have to curtail our Christmas Community Display next year or begin to charge for it, which is what I have never wanted to do. Please consider giving in these last few weeks of the year. Thank you in advance, Oasis, for being so generous in your time and resources.
"Midnight Clear" continues this weekend. I am looking forward to bringing this Christmas weekend message along with our teaching team. It’s been a great series from the book of Isaiah so far.
Don’t forget, we have our "Christmas Eve Services" next week at both North Miami and Pembroke Pines, and all our services will be LIVE ONLINE too for those traveling. Invite your friends and family to come with you or join you online.
P.S. Just a reminder that Christmas at the Oasis is open EVERY night through Christmas night, beginning with tonight at 7pm. (Some activities, like the Christmas Express Trains and the Ice Skating, are so popular that the Tickets go fast and may not be available unless you and your friends get there early.)
