"Hello from Haiti"

I am in Haiti this week with our team of 25 other Oasis-ers for what I believe will be one of our most important trips yet. Not only have we ministered in the St. Marc area to our partners there (where your Bike for Haiti Gifts underwrite the Seminary that trains Haitian pastors), but our folks built bunks for their new guest house along with other jobs. From there, our team went to the orphanage where your giving to Bike for Haiti sponsors 40 children, from food, water and clothing to their education. Our team did a Haitian Style Tidal Wave for the kids there. Thursday night, we drove about 2 1/2 hours north toward Cap Haitian to the city of Pignon where another one of our Partners has churches, schools and many ministries.  Thursday night, several hundred girls were given a beautiful formal dress in preparation for our Tiaras Ball on Friday night. On Friday, our team prepared and then — led by Lily and her Tiaras' team — hosted the first International Tiaras for the girls of Pignon. This was one of the most moving services I think I will ever experience as the young Haitian girls were taught of their value to God and then crowned with their own Tiara as a daughter of the King.

A weary team will board the bus at 4 a.m. Saturday morning and cross muddy roads and rivers without bridges to make their flight back to the USA, with changed hearts and hearts full of love for the Haitian people. I will be staying through Sunday in order to meet with Ephraim and continue to plan for our first Mission Store in Haiti that will open in August as another way to support our Bike for Haiti partners. I can't wait to bring you updates on that. Your giving to the Mission Store has made this possible.

This weekend we launch our "Me" Message series.

The Me I Want To Be: becoming God’s best version of you
Have you ever had the feeling that your life was meant for more? That there’s a greater purpose for your existence? Your life is not your project; it’s God’s. What if you could actually become the person you know you were made to be?

I am really excited about this series and the challenge it will be for all of us. You do not want to miss it.

First Step begins this weekend.

This has been an unbelievable summer, with so many things being planned for our biggest fall ever. Missions has been at the forefront locally and internationally, with a Missions Trip to close out our summer on Labor Day weekend, where we will visit our partner city Detroit to work with one of our inner city churches.

God bless you and have a great weekend.

P.S. Please pray for our group as they travel around Haiti and then fly home on Saturday. If you have not yet given the Lord his Tithes and your offerings this week, you can do so right now. Just click here.
