"Love Cities, Love Pastors Project"

"Love Cities, Love Pastors" is our next step in our 20/20 Vision for 2014-15. This might be the biggest step we have taken since we launched the building of our present auditorium and "Build By 2000" Campaign in 1998.

If you were with us two weeks ago as I shared 5 Components of our Missions Value for 2014-15 you know what we are talking about. If you were not, please watch my message here and you will get it!

Before we start printing, announcing or promoting this God-sized vision and next step I am appealing to you as our Pastors Prayer Partners to begin to saturate "Love Cities, Love Pastors" in prayer. This next 5 weeks from now through our big church-wide  "Celebration/Commitment" weekend February 15th-16th is one of the most crucial times in the history of Oasis Church. Please pray for all the letters, brochures, phone calls, dinners and church-wide  "Celebration Day" the weekend of Feb 15th-16th. Pray that God will stir all our hearts to love our closest city for our next campus, Hollywood/Beaches. Pray that God will give us an overwhelming love for the city of Detroit and the pastors and churches in the Inner city and our 5 year partnership with them. Pray for God to break our church's heart for the hurting, suffering pastors who need a retreat and renewal place and that Oasis Church and our future Pastoral Retreat Center will be that place for hundreds of pastors and their families in the years and decades to come.

I am convinced the greatest thing we can do over these next 5 weeks is to pray. To pray with boldness. I love this quote by Mark Batterson who wrote the Circle Maker: "Bold Prayers honor God, and God honors bold prayers. God isn't offended by your biggest dreams, or boldest prayers. He is offended by anything less. If your prayers are not impossible to you, they are insulting to God. Why? Because they do not require Divine Intervention."

I challenge you to read Joshua 6:1-15. This incredible city of Jericho was the obstacle to God’s people. It was tall, thick and wide. It was impossible to penetrate. But with God it was an opportunity to show His people with "God all things are possible".  The cities of Hollywood and Detroit are just as big for Oasis but with God "Nothing is impossible". Will you commit to praying daily that God will supply all it takes to scale the walls and to see them fall before our eyes as Oasis Church trusts God to tear them down and to give these cities to us.
