Community Service at Oasis Church

We have a great ministry here at Oasis Church which I am honored to host. It is Community Service from individuals in our community who are required to perform hours for various reasons. This program not only helps the individuals, but our church as well with many free “man” hours. These individuals come to us with various skills and talents. We had an artist redo our Bethlehem Wall last year, another individual painted several rooms, one was a landscaper sprucing up our gardens, etc.

The least benefit we derive from this program is saving money by not having to hire many people to do the above-mentioned jobs. The ultimate reward for all is that many have joined our church, been baptized, and in general feel comfortable in a church setting because of their experience here.

Mission as a Core Value

We believe that as a church, we should be fulfilling the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

This is the mission of our church and our lives as Christians. Whether you’re feeding the homeless, on a mission trip to a foreign country or just sharing your faith with a friend, our lives should always be on mission.
