Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem. These words were spoken by the Psalmist, David, several thousand years ago. See, Jerusalem has been the home of God’s people for thousands of years but they have been run out of their Promised Land multitudes of times. Today, most do not realize, the land that many say Israel occupies since 1948, is originally the Arabs’ land. If they understood even the most basic Biblical history they would realize Israel has owned that land since it was promised to Abraham and his ancestors. Sadly, the Jews have been run out, exterminated and attempted to be eliminated by many countries and cultures for centuries. But, you cannot kill and eliminate what God established until He is ready.
Now, this is not political. Unfortunately, so many want to just look through the lens of politics. I do not. This is biblical. Of course in modern day war everything becomes political. I believe there is blame for atrocities to go around on all sides in war. So, for that I say, pray for the innocent victims today in the Palestinian/Hamas West Bank, as well as the Israelis being indiscriminately bombed. I have been to the West Bank. I have visited the cities there. I have met many fine Christians and Pastors even, that are innocent victims and pawns for the use of men that are evil. Most Christians in the West Bank would NEVER support what the terrorist group Hamas is doing and has done. But they have no choice of where they live. So, as I remind us what David said in Psalm 122, I would add to it, this prayer for the innocent adults and children of the West Bank, who are suffering greatly as they are being used as human shields.
Please take a moment each day to pray as David has stated.
