The Power of Praying for Others

There is just nothing very sexy-sounding about a ‘subject line’ that says “the Power of Praying for Others.” I like a subject line in my emails to catch someone’s attention. I like it to make them want to read further for more info. But, honestly, there just wasn't one I could think of.
Do you know what I was reminded of when I was thinking about this? It is that Prayer in itself is not really very "Sexy" or fun-sounding! Sometimes it can be down right boring or even, mundane. Wow! That sounds sac-religious, I know. But it’s really true. At least in my life, it is.
Regardless, the Power of Prayer should keep us, praying.  Yes, I said it. God wants our prayers. He wants our relationship with Him to be daily. Regular. Every relationship that is long-term can be mundane and not really ‘Sexy’ and exciting all the time but, it can be powerful when combined with Love, Commitment and Faithfulness, over the long-haul.
So, whether we get excited about praying for those on our Prayer Digest everyday or not. Whether we are overwhelmed with the opportunity to spend time with God first thing in the morning, or last thing at night, or in between, let’s remember that God loves us to talk to Him and even more so, to intercede to Him for others.
Check out 2 Corinthians 1 where Paul is thanking those who have prayed for him and others in their extreme problems and troubles. We have many we can actually intercede for and see God do a mighty work in and through them.

Please don’t quit praying.
2 Corinthians 2:10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
Thank you so much for being my Pastor’s Prayer Partners. You keep me going through the Power of Prayer and God’s answers. You see others healed and lives changed.
