"Tonight is the Night"

"Christmas at the Oasis" launches tonight for 2014. It’s always hard to believe we work and plan for this night all year starting in January and just like that it’s here. I have never seen our volunteers and staff work harder to make a Christmas so special. Tonight, at 7pm, we officially kicked off the new Christmas Season.

I hope you and your family will not only come one night but that you will serve at least one night each week through Christmas. All you need to do if you have not already signed up is "Show Up" and look or ask for the "Volunteer Central." They will put you where we can use you most effectively. I promise you, if you and your family come and serve you will be far more blessed than the ones who are just visiting our display. Don’t just love Christmas at the Oasis; "OWN IT." Be the Drop to the thousands who will visit our campus this season. We are open from 7-10pm Thurs-Sunday nights and the last week we are open every night through Christmas.

"Trees of Hope” is history as far as the event, but the love and impact will be felt through eternity. Almost all the Trees of Hope were given away Tuesday night. In spite of rain all day and night, most picked their tree up.  Others who did not will pick theirs up tonight. While the rain kept the lights and activities from happening, the love and appreciation coming from our Oasis-ers and those receiving trees was overwhelming. It was an amazing night. We have already heard so many inspiring stories.

I want to thank all of you who pledged to sponsor a tree. We still need about 100 more trees sponsored. You can do so by going online here or bringing your Pledge Card back this weekend. You can give online or you can give along with your other offerings in your envelope. Just mark Trees of Hope on the "other" line.  Thanks again to all of you who are giving to 'Give Hope' to a hurting family this season.

Our "MIDNIGHT CLEAR" Christmas Message Series begins this weekend. Along with several of our Teaching Team, I will be bringing the first message of the series. We are bringing our Christmas Sermon series from a totally different part of the Bible this year, which I think will be very interesting and practical for you and any guests you invite. Which reminds me: pick up INVITE CARDS and hand them out inviting anyone and everyone. I was embarrassed today to have two opportunities and no INVITES. So I made verbal invites. But it’s still not as effective as our little invite that they can put in their wallet. YUCK! Make sure you pick some up this weekend. I will too...

See you at Christmas at the Oasis and one of our Worship Services this weekend as we launch “Christmas at the Oasis – the 2014 Edition."
